How to edit hosts file in Windows 7

Windows 7 by default blocks editing os related files for the normal user.

So when you will try to edit the hosts file in windows7 it will give you the error message stating “Access Denied” etc.

It is real simple to edit the host file, once you know how to do it.

Here are the step by step process.

1- Start – Right Click On Notepad – Select “Run as administrator”

2- Then once notepad is opened, do the following

3- File -> Open -> Locate your host file and open it. It would be generally at C:/Windows/System32/Drivers/etc folder

Thanks it, you can now do what ever you want to do with the hosts file.

Let me know if you still need any help.
